Today will be a big day for Elaine. They will take her into the OR where they will remove the ECMO pump. They will run a series of tests to make sure her heart can pump adequately on it's own.
If they can successfully remove the ECMO, then they will start taking the steps to remove the vent. She also needs to get from the constant dialysis to intermittent dialysis. After all that she can finally leave SICU.
We need lots of faith & prayers today that she will be strong enough to have this pump removed.
On a positive note, her body is showing signs that it is tolerating the new formula.
