I was able to go spend a few hours with mom and dad in the hospital today. When I arrived she was just finishing up another round of dialysis. They have her on an every other day dialysis schedule now instead of everyday. Hopefully her kidney will be able to bounce back soon so she can be finished with it. Dialysis always leaves mom very tired afterwards.
She was able to get a little rest, but later was really put to the test. A physical therapist came in and woke her up (I felt so bad.) so she could work on standing. She understandably was really reluctant because she was so tired, but agreed when the physical therapist wouldn't take no for an answer. He told her that she didn't have to like him now, but could appreciate him later when she was walking.
During the process of helping her stand a second time, one of her lines on her arm started dripping. To keep everything sanitary they were forced to change robes and bedding. While they switched out the bedding she had to stand the whole time. By the end she seemed very sore and shaky, but the result was three times standing!! A new record!! Once they got her settled back in bed, her head hit the pillow and she was out like a light.
