It looks like Elaine is going to be able to skip dialysis again today... that's THREE days is a row! The physical therapist has been there already and she was able to meet all his requests.
Elaine didn't feel great last night. Lynn was able to stay until 9:00pm and then Mark stayed the rest of the night with her until Lynn returned at 5:30 this morning. It was a restless night but Mark said it was a treat to pull an all-nighter with his mom. He said that these are times he will never forget. At one point in the night Mark had fallen asleep in the chair by her bed. When he opened his eyes she was looking at him and said, "you are such a sweetheart." Even as a grown man, those are words that you love to hear from your mom.
Elaine has always been a caretaker throughout her life. I'm sure that being the recipient of care isn't easy for her but what a special time for all of us to be able to give a little bit back to her. There are so many of you that have given of yourselves through prayers, letters and cards, and your time. It all means so much!
