Ticket Home

The nurse told her yesterday that this device was her ticket home. She has to breathe in and out of it ten times every hour. It forces her to take deep breaths. Knowing this was her way home she asked to do it again ten minutes later.

She wanted to sit up as soon as she was able. Her next question was, "When are we leaving in the morning?" She obviously doesn't realize how many wires, tubes, and monitors she still has attached to her body.

I told her this farm girl from Idaho was going to show these city nurses what true determination is.

    Just seeing that deep breathing machine makes me cringe. I HATED using that. I'll be praying for her to keep up the good attitude about using it. :)
